16 years after hip resurfacing
Having lead a very atheletic life, I developed arthritis in my hip. Being a nurse I searched the country for an Orthopedist who specialized in hip resurfacing, and Dr. Gross was at the top of the field. I was ~55 and a hip replacement would wear out at some point in time with no good follow up procedure. I would not know that my hip was resurfaced 16 years ago at any point following recovery. It has been wonderfully functional and I recommend him without hesitation.

Had my hip resurfaced in 2015 and extremely happy with the result and Dr Gross's treatment. No physical theraphy or nothing and fast recovery with instructions at home.I don't even feel like I had this surgery!

Had hip resurfaced by Dr. Gross and team July of 2024. The whole process was clear, concise, and very professional. I flew in from TX because my local ortho Dr put Dr Gross in his top 3 recommendations. After doing my own evaluation and talking to Gross, he was my #1 choice. Prior to resurfacing, I was in pain 24-7, unable to participate in most activities, and very limited in all things mobility. Fast forward 11 months to June of 2025 I just finished a 75 mile backpacking trek carrying 50lb pack, Summited 6 peaks going from 6k elevation to 12k multiple times, slept on the ground for 11 nights, over 100 water and downed tree crossings, all while almost keeping up with teenagers. Every part of my body ached and burned….except for that resurfaced hip. Quite amazing, wish I’d done it 10 years earlier. Oh well….i have a new lease now.

I had a hip resurfacing on my left hip in January 2020. I have no pain and I can’t tell I have even had a hip procedure done. I ski 35-45 days a winter standup paddleboard play tennis singles and just came off of a 4 mile walk on the beach. When my right hip goes I guess I’ll be back if they’ll have me! Dr Gross is an awesome dude and I felt very well taken care of. If your hip hurts Just do it!

Dr. Gross performed hip resurfacing on my right hip 7 years ago this month. I was super impressed by how he and his office have the procedure down. Everything is perfectly planned. Patients arrive a day early. That afternoon, they attend a seminar on what happens with the surgery and are given exercises for doing post-surgery. (Patients do their own physical therapy at home.) They then are fitted for crutches and a few other things they need. Surgery occurs the next day, patients spend the night in the hospital, then are released the day after. Simple process. Healing takes a little longer than a typical hip replacement. However, hip resurfacing lasts for life. I have had no complications in 7 years. I'm glad I did it! No regrets at all. Dr. Gross has performed more hip resurfacing surgeries than anyone in the U.S. Look no further. He's great.

I'm about to join the '17-year Club' - having had my first hip re-surfacing in April of 2008. For nearly 17 years, it has not given me any pain or limitation of activity. As my left hip has since become arthritic to the point of needing intervention, I have passed on the opportunity to have a resurfacing done 'free of charge' by a good 'community care' provider through the Department of Veterans Affairs and NYU Langone and will happily write a check for the co-pay, travel to South Carolina from my home in New York, and use vacation time to have Dr. Gross perform the surgery; because I would trust no one else. Kudos to Lee Webb whose contribution to this procedure is often unstated but equally important - putting you back together the way God made you - after Dr. Gross' job is done. I understand hers' is a very special function that not all practitioners follow, and I have to attribute Dr. Gross' high success rate and the absence of any dislocation or other problems with my new hip to Dr. Gross' skill, Lee's meticulous work and the kind after-care I received in recovery. I remain grateful and - while surgery is not something I look forward to - it is less concerning because I know I'll be in good hands through every step of the procedure. Thank you.

Excellent Surgeon
Dr. Gross is a genuine and compassionate physician with a specific expertise not widely available..... hip resurfacing. He has completed over 7000 of these specific procedures with outcomes measures that are excellent. I've had my right hip resurfaced in 2012 and currently need my left one done. I am more confident in his abilities and skills now using his outcome measures as a standard comparison to other procedures. Excellent physician and surgeon. Highly recommend him for hip resurfacing.

Thank you so very much Dr.Browning and everyone else at Midlands Orthopedics!! I highly recommend Midland Orthopedics and Dr. Browning in particular. They were able to schedule me in a very short time period, Dr. Browning was exceptional at explaining my shoulder injury, and what the future outlook would be. I saw another Orthopedic Dr, at another institution and it was horrendous!!! Do yourself a favor, call Midland Orthopedics before calling anyone else,…you can thank me later!!

A well organized office. Appointment was for 10 AM, called to treatment area at 10:03. Taken directly to radiology for films then taken to the exam room. Waited about 6 minutes until Dr. Browning arrived. Questions and exam were on-point to determine the issue. Checked out and was out the door by 10:45.
