Staff is courteous and skilled .Dr Gross is wonderful. He spent our visit talking to me , not looking at a computer. He answered all my questions, and I never felt he was in a hurry . He is obviously living his calling , and his patients are the lucky recipients of this . I drive 5 hours to see him due to his international reputation ,and send all my running friends .

I recommend Dr Gross to everyone I know
Dr Gross called me to find out what my hip problem was after having looked at my x-ray. He is very thorough in his work and will only do things that he feels are necessary.

I travelled 14 hours out of state to get to this doctor. I did my homework ahead of time and he came out as the best for this procedure. I could not have been happier. I am 3 month post hip resurfacing and already i feel my artificial joint is better than my natural one on the other hip. I don't have what else to compare against, but i have read horror stories online on the facebook support groups on other patients/doctors. Great work from everyone involved , from office staff, to hospital to post op follow up. A+.
Follow up two and a half years later. The hip is holding really well, i have just came back from an 18 days hiking trip in the Everest region called "3 passes trek". I carried all my gear. The hip was my least concern :-)

Dr. Gross and his staff provided superior education about, logistical preparation for, and performance of my left hip resurfacing in 2010. 12+ years later my hip has been pain free and strong.
I recently have experienced pain in the operated hip and reached out to Dr. Gross to evaluate x-rays to see if the implant was the cause. Dr. Gross indicated the implant is still in perfect condition. A subsequent MRI reveals I have gluteus minimus tendonosis, and Dr. Gross has assisted me in my recovery with prescriptions for physical therapy and medications, even though I am in Utah.

It's not my hip! Yipee!
Everyone was friendly except the computer. I had x-rays and an exam and was out in 45 minutes. It was great.

Consultation
Dr. Gross was thorough in his assessment of my hip issues. He explained his diagnosis and treatment options. I had previously consulted him over the phone as I am not local to Columbia SC but it was worth the trip to see him in person for a better assessment as the problem with my hip was not readily apparent from imaging. He answered all my questions and presented my treatment options and the pros and cons of each. Would recommend him to anyone who has hip issues and are considering surgical intervention. Kudos to him and his team! Wish all service organizations, companies, or medical offices were as responsive as the team at Midlands Ortho!
